Based on the experience of psychotherapies with adolescents and young women presenting severe eating desorders, the author proposes an original construction of what she calls « The melancholic femininity ». These construction presents two main aspects: the first one concerns lost objects and the second is about seduction fantasies. Confronted to the object’s lost, the patient ‘s psychic functioning turns passivity into activity because the objeetal process of mourning is unbearable for her, and her narcissism is loo fragile to recognize the dependance on the loved person. So, the object is actively abandoned. The « melancholic version » of seduction shows the same shift between activity and passivity and it's very frequently observed. In the hysteric version of seduction, the girl is seduced bv un adult, generally the father or a substitute, who is the guilty one, active and intrusive . So the girl-patient is innocent even if. after adolescence, she can recognize her own excitation and desire. In the melancholic version, the positions are different : the girl is guilty because she’s convinced of having seduced the adult, the father, who becomes the one who is excited. So these young patients attack their seductive erotic body by eating desorders (anorexia and bulimia). The author presents as a clinical case of a young woman and the process of working through during several years.
