Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Olumlu ve Olumsuz Yaşantı Ölçeğinin ergenler için psikometrik özelliklerini incelemektir. Yöntem: Araştırma İzmir ilinde farklı liselerde öğrenim gören 364 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilerin 213’ü (%58.5) kız, 151’i (%41.5) erkektir. Ölçeğin, yapı geçerliliği açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Ölçeğin ölçüt bağlantılı geçerliliğini saptamak için Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği, Yaşam Yönelimi Testi ve Ucla Yalnızlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenilirliğine bakmak için Cronbach alfa katsayısı ve test-tekrar test yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Madde analizi kapsamında madde toplam puan korelasyonuna ve %27’lik alt-üst grupların madde ortalama puanları arasındaki farklara bakılmıştır. Sonuç: Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda, ölçek özgün formunda ve üniversite öğrencileri ile yapılan uyarlama çalışmasında olduğu gibi iki faktörden oluşmaktadır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizine göre ölçeğin uyum indekslerinin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin ölçüt bağlantılı geçerliği çalışması için yapılan korelasyon analizi sonucunda anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Olumlu ve Olumsuz Yaşantı Ölçeğinin Cronbach alfa katsayısına, test-tekrar test sonucuna, madde toplam korelasyonlarına ve t değerlerine bakıldığında ölçeğin güvenilir olduğu görülmektedir. Tartışma: Olumlu ve Olumsuz Yaşantı Ölçeğinin ergenlerin yaşamış olduğu olumlu ve olumsuz duyguları geçerli ve güvenilir bir şekilde ölçtüğü söylenebilir.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the psychometric properties of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience for adolescences. Methods: This study was conducted with 364 students from several high schools in Izmir. 213 (%58.5) of these students were male and 151 (%41.5) were female. The construct validity of the scale was studied by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. In order to evaluate criteria-dependent validity of the scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Life Orientation Test, and UCLA Loneliness Scale were used. To measure the reliability of the scale Cronbach alpha coefficient and test-retest methods were used. In item analysis, the differences between item total correlation and %27 percent of top and bottom groups’ average points were examined. Result: After exploratory factor analysis it was observed that it consists of two factors like the original and the adapted Turkish form which was carried out with university students. Confirmatory factor analysis indicates that the fit indexes are at acceptable level. The correlation analysis study for criteria-dependent validity study of the scale had revealed that there were meaningful relationships. When we look at the Cronbach alpha coefficient, test-retest scores, item total correlation, and t scores of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience, it can be said that the scale is reliable. Discussion: It can be said that the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience is a valid and reliable scale that can measure positive and negative emotions of the adolescents.
