öğrencilerinin eğitiminde görev alan psikiyatri hemşirelerinin profesyonel davranışlarının düzeyini ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışmada 100 katılımcıya ulaşılmış ve veriler Hemşirelikte Profesyonelliğe İlişkin Davranışsal Envanter (HPDE) ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde yüzdelik, ANOVA, t-testi, Kruskall Wallis testi ve Mann-Whitney U-testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelerin %67’si şu anda hastanede ve %46’sı servis hemşiresi olarak çalışmaktadır. HPDE puan ortalaması 10.54±6.48 (min=0.00, maks=25.00) olarak saptanmıştır. HPDE alt grup puan ortalamalarının yüksek puandan düşük puana doğru sıralaması; “teori, eğitimsel hazırlık, yeterlilik ve sürekli eğitim, hemşirelik kodları, meslek örgütlerine üyelik, araştırma, yayın, toplumsal hizmet, otonomi” şeklindedir. Yaşın, eğitim durumunun artmasının HPDE puan ortalamasının artmasında etkili olduğu saptanmıştır (p?0.03). Görev yerine göre otonomi dışında tüm alt grup puanları arasında (p?0.002), şu andaki göreve göre tüm alt grup puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark (p?0.02) bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Bu çalışmada hemşirelerin profesyonellik puanlarının düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Hastanede psikiyatri servislerinde çalışan hemşirelerin eğitim düzeyinin yükseltilmesi, lisansüstü eğitime, araştırma/ yayın yapmaya ve bilimsel aktivitelere katılmaya teşvik edilmesi ve desteklenmesi, hemşirelik eğitiminde etik kodların öğretilmesi önerilmektedir.

Objectives: To determine the factors influencing the level of the professional behaviors of psychiatric nurses working in the psychiatric clinic and training of nursing students. Methods: In this descriptive study, 100 participants were accessed and the data was collected with the Behavioral Inventory for Professionalism in Nursing (BIPN). Percentile, ANOVA, t test, Kruskall Wallis test, and Mann Whitney-U test were utilized in the analysis of data. Results: A proportion of nurses (67%) that participated in the study currently work at the hospital, while 46% work as psychiatric service nurses. The mean BIPN score was determined to be 10.54±6.48 (min=0.00, max=25.00). The ordering of the mean BIPN sub-group scores from the highest score to the lowest score is as follows: “theory, educational preparation, competency and constant education, nursing code of ethics, membership in professional organizations, research, publication, community service, and autonomy. It was determined that the increase of age and status of education has an impact on the increase of the mean BIPN scores (p?0.03). A statistically significant difference was determined between all subgroup scores other than autonomy, depending on the location of duty (p?0.002) and between all sub-group scores depending on the current duty (p?0.02). Conclusion: In this study, it was observed that the professionalism scores of nurses were low. Enhancing the level of education of nurses working in the psychiatric service in the hospital, by encouraging postgraduate education , engagement in research/publications, participation in scientific activities, and teaching them nursing code of ethics, is recommended.
