Zihinsel ve/veya bedensel engelli çocukların annelerinin anksiyete, depresyon, evlilik uyumunun ve çocuğu algılama şeklinin değerlendirilmesi

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı bedensel ve/veya zihinsel engelli çocukların sosyodemografik özelliklerini, annelerdeki depresyon, anksiyete, evlilikte uyum düzeylerini ve annelerin çocuklarını algılama şeklini belirlemektir.
Yöntem: 21 Otistik bozukluk (OB), 19 serebral palsi (SP), 11 Down Sendromu (DS) olan çocuk ve anne-babaları hasta grubu (HG) olarak, 21 zihinsel ve/veya bedensel engeli olmayan çocuklar ve anne-babaları kontrol grubu (KG) olarak çalışmaya alındı. Sosyodemografik bulgular standart olarak hazırlanmış sosyodemografik veri toplama formu ile anne-babalara sorularak elde edildi. Tüm çocukların annelerine Beck Depresyon Envanteri (BDE), Beck Anksiyete Envanteri (BAE), Evlilikte Uyum Ölçeği (EUÖ) ve Aile Çocuk İlişkileri Anne formu (AÇİAF) uygulandı.
Bulgular: HG'ndaki annelerinin BDE puanı kontrol grubundaki annelerin BDE puanına göre daha yüksekti (p=0.04). EUÖ puanı düşük olan annelerde BDE ve BAE puanları daha yüksekti (p<0.05). AÇİAF'nda sıcaklık-sevgi altölçek puanı HG'nda KG'a göre (p<0.05), saldırganlı-kin altölçek puanı DS grubunda OB grubuna göre (p<0.05), ilgisizlik-ihmal altölçek puanı DS+SP grubunda OB+ KG'a göre daha yüksekti (p<0.05). Anne BDE ile saldırganlık-kin ve red altölçeği arasında, anne BAE ile ilgisizlik-ihmal altölçeği arasında negatif ilişki; anne EUÖ ile sıcaklık-sevgi altölçeği arasında pozitif ilişki vardı.
Sonuç: Zihinsel ve/veya bedensel engelli çocuğa sahip anneler ruhsal olarak engelli çocuğa sahip olmayanlardan daha çok etkilenmekteydi. Bu nedenle engelli çocuğa sahip olan annelere gerekli ve yeterli ruhsal destek sağlanmalıdır.
Assessment Of Anxiety, Depression, Marital Adjustment And perception Of Child Of Mothers Of Handicapped Children
Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine sociodemo-graphic properties of handicapped children and to com-pare the level of their mother's depression, anxiety, marital adjustment and perception of the child.
Methods: Participants were divided according to three types of disabilities and one control group: Parents of children with autistic disorder (OD), cerebral palsy (CP), Down Syndrome (DS), and no disability (ND). And also, all mothers of handicapped children were called as a patient group (PG). Sociodemographic properties were gathered using standart socipdemographic form. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), The Marital Adjustment Test (TMAT) and Parental Accep-tance Rejection Questionnaire- Mother Form (PARQ-M) was administered to all mothers.
Results: BDI of PG was statistically heigher than BDI scores of mothers of ND (p=0.04). Mothers with low scores of TMAT had higher scores of BDI and BAI (p<0.05). Acording to PARQ-M; scores of warmth-affection sub-scales of PG were higher than ND (p<0.05), scores of agres-sion-hostility subscales was higher DS than AD (p<0.05), scores of neglect-indifference subscales was higher DS+CP than AD+CG (p<0.05). There was negative correlation be-tween BDE of mothers and scores of aggression-hostility. There was positive correlation between scores of TMAT of mother and warmth-affection subscales.
Conclusions: Mothers of handicapped children were found to report greater level of stress than mothers of non-handicapped children. As a result of this, mothers of handicapped children should be given psychological support regularly
