Amaç: Bu çalışma hemşirelik ve ebelik öğrencilerinin öfke ve yalnızlık özelliklerini belirlemek amacı yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı kesitsel türde planlanan araştırmanın evrenini, bir Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu ve bir Sağlık Yüksekokulu’nun Hemşirelik, başka bir Sağlık Yüksekokulu’nun Ebelik Bölümü'ndeki 1002 öğrenci, örneklemini ise tabakalı rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen toplam 667 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya başlamadan önce kurumlardan yazılı, öğrencilerden sözlü bilgilendirilmiş onam alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Öğrenci Tanıtım Formu, Sürekli Öfke ve Öfke İfade Tarzı Ölçeği ve UCLA Yalnızlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, ortanca, minimum-maksimum, Pearson Correlation, Independent Samples Test, One-Way ANOVA testleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin %88.6’sının kız, yaş ortalamasının 20.57 (SS=1.98), sürekli öfke düzeyi puan ortalamasının 21.61 (SS=5.18); öfke tarzı ölçeğinin kontrol altına alınmış öfke alt boyutunun puan ortalamasının 21.59 (SS=4.73); dışavurulmuş öfke alt boyutunun puan ortalamasının 16.68 (SS=3.92); bastırılmış öfke puan ortalamasının 17.74 (SS=3.89), UCLA-Yalnızlık Ölçeği puan ortalamasının 36.28 (SS=10.01) olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin sürekli öfke ve öfke ifade tarzı ölçeği puanları ile UCLA yalnızlık ölçeği puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlılık taşıyan ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Öte yandan öğrencilerin cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim gördüğü okul, okuldaki sınıfı, ekonomik durum, hemşirelik/ebelik mesleğini isteyerek seçip seçmediği değişkenleri ile Sürekli Öfke ve Öfke İfade Tarzı Ölçeği ve UCLA Yalnızlık Ölçeği puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar belirlenmiştir. Tartışma ve Sonuç: Hemşirelik ve ebelik öğrencileri öfke ve yalnızlık duygularını yaşayabilmektedir. Hemşirelik ve ebelik öğrencilerinin öfke enerjisini olumlu bir şekilde kullanmaları için rehberlik programlarının düzenlenmesinin gerektiği ve böylece yalnızlık da dâhil ilişkili sorunların çözümlenebileceği düşünülmektedir.

Objective: The present study was conducted in order to determine nursing and midwifery students' anger and loneliness characteristics. Method: The population of this study, which had a descriptive cross-sectional design, comprised a total of 1002 students from three training locations: a school of nursing, the nursing program of a health vocational school, and the midwifery program of a health vocational school. From this population, the sampling group was formed by 667 students who are selected with stratified random sampling. Before the start of the study, related permissions were taken from the institutions, and verbal informed consents were obtained from the students. Student Information Forms, Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scales, and The UCLA Loneliness Scale were used as data collection tools. Data analysis was performed with frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, median, minimum, maximum, Pearson Correlation, Independent Samples Test, One-Way ANOVA tests were used. Findings: From among the students, 88.6% were women, and the average age was 20.57 (SD=1.98) years. The mean value of the trait anger level of students was 21.61 (SD=5.18)  point. Also it was seen that the mean value of the anger control subscale was 21.59 (SD=4.73) point, the mean value of the anger-out subscale was 16.68 (SD=3.92) point, the mean value of the anger-in subscale was 17.74 (SD=3.89) point, the mean value of the UCLA loneliness scale was 36.28 (SD=10.01) point. Statistically significant relationships were found between students' Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scales scores and The UCLA Loneliness Scale scores. On the other hand, statistically significant differences were observed between Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scales, and The UCLA Loneliness Scale scores of the students by the variants of gender, age, school, year at school, economic status, and the voluntary/involuntary preference of nursing profession. Discussion and Conclusion: Nursing and midwifery students may experience feelings of anger and loneliness. It is thought that guidance programmes should be established in order to use positively nursing and midwifery students' energy of anger and that the related problems including loneliness can be resolved.
