Yaygın gelişimsel bozukluk (YGB) sosyal etkileşim, iletişim alanlarında bozulma ve stereotipik davranışlar ile karakterize zorlu bir psikiyatrik hastalık grubudur. YGB olan çocuklar genellikle saldırganlık, hiperaktivite yeme ve uyku ile ilgili sorunlar da dahil olmak üzere ciddi uyumsuz davranışlar, gösterebilirler. YGB’deki çekirdek belirtiler için özgün farmakolojik tedavi bulunmamaktadır. Aripiprazol, reseptörler üzerinde farklı etki gösteren bir antipsikotiktir ve diğer antipsikotiklere göre görece daha iyi bir metabolik profile sâhiptir. Biz SSGİ tedavisine aripiprazol eklenmesiyle sosyal iletişim ve etkileşiminde önemli ölçüde iyileşme elde ettiğimiz, komorbid obsesif kompulsif bozukluğu (OKB) olan Asperger Bozukluğu olan vak’amızı sunmaktayız.

Pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) is a challenging psychiatric condition characterized by impairment in social interactions, deficits in communication and challenges with stereotypic behaviors. Children with PDD often display severe maladaptive behaviors, including aggression, hyperactivity, and difficulties with eating and sleeping. There is no specific pharmacological treatment for the core symptoms of PDD. Aripiprazole is a novel antipsychotic, which shows partial agonist effects at D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors. Aripiprazole has a better metabolic profile compared to previous antipsychotics. We report a PDD patient, with comorbid obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), who had significant improvement in his social interactions after addition of aripiprazole to his SSRI treatment.
