Alkol ve madde kullanımı tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de hızla artmaktadır. Her kullanıcısı alkol ya da madde kullanım bozukluğu geliştirmese de, erken tanı ve müdahaleler kişileri bağımlılık gelişiminden korumak için çok önemlidir. Bu makale, sorun oluşturacak düzeyde alkol ya da madde kullanımı olan kişilerin ayırt edilmesinde kullanılan tanı sistemleri ve tarama ölçekleri yanı sıra biyolojik belirteçleri ele almaktadır. Yazının sonunda, alkol ya da madde kullanım sorunu saptanan bireylere yönelik kısa müdahale yöntemlerine de yer verilmiştir.

Alcohol and substance use has been increasing rapidly all around the world as well as in our country. Although all users will not have alcohol substance use disorder, early diagnosis and interventions are crucial to prevent users from development of addictions. This article focuses on diagnostic systems and screening scales as well as biological markers to distinguish people with problematic alcohol or substance use. At the end of the article, brief intervention methods for individuals diagnosed with alcohol or substance problems are also given.
