Munchausen sendromu, fiziksel veya psikolojik belirti ve bulguların istemli olarak oluşturulması veya uydurulması, hastane hastane dolaşma ve/veya patolojik yalan söyleme (psödologia fantastika) ile karekterize olan bir yapay bozukluktur. Yapay bozukluk - Munchausen sendromu tanı ve tedavisi doğasındaki güvenilmezlik nedeniyle oldukça zordur. Hastaların kendilerinde hastalık belirtilerini yapay olarak oluşturması ve sağlık çalışanlarını yanıltmaları sonucunda uygulanan çok sayıda tetkik ve tekrarlayan hastane yatışları hem zaman hem de maddi kayıplara neden olur. Bu nedenle olguların erken tanınması önemlidir. Yapay bozukluk - Munchausen sendromu ile ilgili yazın bilgisi çoğunlukla olgu bildirimleri şeklinde olup bunlarında çok büyük bir bölümü ergen ve erişkin yaş gurubunu içermektedir. Bu yazıda hemoptizi yakınması ile çok sayıda sağlık merkezine başvuran, yapılan tetkiklerde yakınmasını açıklayabilecek bir neden saptanmayan ve psikiyatrik değerlendirme sonrasında yapay bozukluk - munchausen sendromu tanısı konulan 9 yaşında bir olgu ve tedavisi sunulmuştur.

Munchausen Syndrome is a type of factitious disorder, characterized by intentional production or feigning of physical or psychological signs or symptoms, history of seeking treatment at numerous hospitals, and/or pathologic lying (pseudologia fantastica). Diagnosing factitious disorder - Munchausen syndrome is very difficult because of the dishonesty that is involved in the nature of the disorder. This syndrome can become costly both financially and time-consuming due to multiple tests, procedures, treatments, and hospitalizations since the patients factitiously produce symptoms and deceive health care professionals. So, it is important to make an early diagnosis for these cases. In the literature, factitious disorder - Munchausen syndrome was referred commonly as case reports and most of them included adolescents and adults. In this article, a 9-year-old girl who had applied to many treatment centers due to hemoptysis and whose symptoms could not be explained with any physical reason after many tests were conducted that finally was diagnosed with factitious disorder - Munchausen syndrome upon psychiatric assessment, is presented.
