Bu çalışmada laiklik konusundaki tutumları ölçmeyi amaçlayan bir ölçek geliştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini değişik fakülte ve bölümlerde okuyan 522 (% 46.2 ’si kadın, % 53.6 ’sı erkek) üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan ve 11 maddeden oluşan ölçek yedili Likert tipi yanıt kategorisine sahiptir. Ölçeğin farklı bileşen çözümlemeleri incelendiğinde en anlamlı yapının varyansın % 43.5’ini açıklayan tek faktörlü bir yapı olduğu görülmüştür. Laiklik Tutum Ölçeğinin Cronbach Alpha iç-tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı .86 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçek ile dindarlık ve inanç düzeyi arasında negatif yönde anlamlı ilişki gözlenmiştir. Politik görüşe göre ölçeğin sınandığı varyans analizi sonuçları, ölçeğin farklı ideolojiler açısından ayırt edici olduğuna işaret etmiştir. Laiklik Tutum Ölçeğinde en yüksek puanı Sosyalist/Solcu/Komünist/Devrimci grup alırken (n=142, ort.=64.55, std. sapma=12.06), en düşük puanı ise Muhafazakâr grup (n=43, ort.= 40.49, std. sapma=12.69) almıştır.

The aim of this study was to develop a scale with regard to the attitudes related to laicity. The sample of the study consisted of522 university students (46,2 % female, 53,6 % male) from various faculties and departments. The 11-item scale prepared by the researchers had a seven point Likert type answer category. When the factor analyses was examined, the most meaningful structure seemed to be the one-component structure that explained 43,5 % of the variance. The Cronbach Alpha coefficients were found to be ,86 for the Laicity Attitude Scale. Significant relationships were found in the negative direction between the religion and belief level and the Laicity Attitude Scale. The variance analysis results where the scale was examined according to the political opinion indicated that the scale was able to distinguish with respect to the different ideologies. While the Socialist/Leftist/Communist/ Revolutionist group received the highest score in the scale (n=142, mean=64.55, std. dev.=12.06), the Conservative group received the lowest score (n=43, mean= 40.49, std. dev.=12.69).
