Kliniklerde önemli bir grup hastaya 'a tipik Psikoz? tanısı konmaktadır, bu atipik
gruba seyrek olarak da ?şizofreni? tanısı konur. Bu hastalar genelde, yetersiz ebeveynin
yeterince bakım veremeyip, bebeği topluma eklemleyememesi sonucunda, şizoid,
şizotipal ya da paranoid bir kişiliğin üzerinde geliştirdikleri bir psikoz halini taşımaktadırlar.
Ortada nörokimyasal temelli bir psikoz olmadığı için, klinikte progresif bir yapı ve tam
bir dezorganizasyon görülmez. Seyrek olarak rastlanan bu hasta grubu, bir şizofreni
fenokopisi olabilir, ancak tablo bir antite morbid olarak şizofreni değildir. Hastaların
hezeyanları olmakla beraber, tümüyle bu hezeyanlar doğrultusunda davranmazlar, gerçekle
bağlantıları özellikle gündelik hayat düzeyinde kopmuş değildir. Bu psikozu ?İşlevsel Psikoz?
(Functional Psychosis) olarak adlandırabiliriz. Bu olgu sunumunda İşlevsel Psikoz olarak
değerlendirdiğimiz bir erkek hasta tartışılacaktır.

A small number of hospitalized patients receive generally the diagnosis of Atypical Psychosis or rarely the diagnosis of schizophrenia. That condition is a psychotic state
which appears as a result of non integration of the baby to the society due to insufficient
care given by his inadequate parents. Some of them may have schizoid, schizotypal or
paranoid personality. It is not a neurochemically based psychosis so there is neither any
progresif structure nor complete desorganisation seen. That kind of patients are rarely seen
and can be schizophrenia phenocopia, but they are not real cases with schizophrenic
disorder. Although the patients have some delusions, they don?t totally behave due to those
delusions, the reality testing of the daily life level is kept intact.
We can propose a name to this psychosis as Functional Psychosis. In that case
presentation a male patient considered as Functioal Psychosis will be explained and
discussed.
