Postpartum Depresyon Sıklığı ve Etkileyen Faktörler

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı postpartum kadınlarda depresyon görülme sıklığını ve depresyon gelişimini etkileyen
risk faktörlerini belirlemekti.
Yöntem: Bu çalışma, kesitsel- tanımlayıcı bir çalışmadır. Ankara il merkezinde, 2004 yılında, uygunluk örnekleme
yöntemi ile seçilen doğum sonrası 2-18 haftalarda bulunan 488 kadınla yürütülmüştür.
Bulgular: Araştırma sonunda depresyon sıklığının (BDI > 17) % 24,2 olduğu bulunmuştur. Çalışma grubundaki
kadınlarda, son zamanlarda yaşanan onemli yasamsal stres (OR= 2.077, 95% CI=1.252?3.447),
evlilik yaşamından memnun olmama (OR=3.467, 95% CI= 1.532-7.845), ev hanımı olma (çalısmama)
(OR= 2.493, 95% CI=1.041-6.126) ve ilk kez bebek sahibi olma (OR= 2.490, 95% CI=1.042-5.948.)
faktörlerinin depresyon olasılığını artırdığı saptanmıştır. Ayrıca algılanan Sosyal Destek puanı ile depresyon
arasında da istatistiksel olarak önemli düzeyde negatif ilişki saptanmıştır (OR= .986, 95% CI=.973-1.000).
Sonuç: Araştırma bulgularına dayanarak prenatal ve postnatal dönemdeki kadınları izleyen ebe ve hemşirelere
postpartum depresyon risk faktörlerine karşı dikkatli olmaları önerilmiştir. Ebe /hemşirelerin risk faktörlerini
taşıyan kadınlara yönelik koruyucu bakım vermeleri ve standart tanı araçlarını kullanarak erken tanıya
yönlendirmeleri anne sağlığına önemli katkı sağlayacaktır.
Frequency of Postpartum Depression and Influencing Factors
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency and the influencing factors for postpartum depression.
Method: This study was conducted as a descriptive, corelational study in Ankara, with 488 women who were in postpartum weeks 2-18 and
chosen by the convenience sampling method in 2004.
Results: At the conclusion of the research the frequency of postpartum depression (BDI > 17) was found to be 24.2%. It was determined that
the statistically significant factors leading to an increased risk of postpartum depression in the women in the research were having stressful life
events (OR= 2.077, 95% CI=1.252-3.447), dissatisfaction with marital life (OR=3.467, 95% CI= 1.532-7.845), being a housewife (unemployement)
(OR= 2.493, 95% CI=1.041-6.126), and having the first baby (OR= 2.490, 95% CI=1.042-5.948.
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study it is recommended that midwives and nurses who monitor women in the prenatal and postpartum
periods be aware of risk factors for postpartum depression. So that they can give preventive care and ensure early diagnosis by use of
standardized tools to make a significant contribution to the health of women.
