arın çeşitli değişkenlerle ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, çalışmada yer alan psikiyatrların sosyo-demografik bâzı özelliklerinin tesbit edilmesi, çalışma alanlarına âit özelliklerin belirlenmesi, tükenmişlik ve iş doyumları düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve tesbit edilen sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerinin geliştirilmesi planlanmıştır.
Yöntem: 2006 yılında İstanbul'da gerçekleştirilen Dünya Psikiyatri Birliği Uluslararası Kongresi'ne gelenler arasından araştırmaya katılmayı kabûl eden ve Türkiye dışından kongreye katılan 87 psikiyatr çalışmaya alınmıştır. Katılımcılara kapalı zarflar içinde "Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği", "Minnesota İş Doyumu Ölçeği" ve "Sosyodemografik Veri Formu" dağıtılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı ayrıntılı anlatılmış ve anketlerin cevaplandırılması rica edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Farklı ülkelerde çalışan psikiyatrların sosyodemografik özellikleri, tükenmişlik ve iş doyumu düzeylerinin araştırıldığı bu çalışmada MTÖ-DT puanı ortalaması 10.90, MTÖ-DYS puanı ortalaması 4.73, MTÖ-KB puanı ortalaması 22.85 ve İş Doyumu puanı ortalaması 73.62 olarak bulunmuştur. Tükenmişlik ve iş doyumu düzeyleri araştırıldığında; cinsiyet, yaş, medenî durum, meslekteki toplam çalışma süresi ve sigara kullanımı gibi alt başlıklarda gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark tesbit edilmemiştir.
Tartışma: Doğrudan insana hizmet eden, hizmetin kalitesinde insan etmeninin çok önemli bir yere sahip olduğu alanlarda sıklıkla görülen tükenmişlik; ekonomik zararlara, elemanların işten ayrılmasına, hekim-hasta ilişkisinin zedelenmesine neden olmaktadır. Yalnızca kişisel değil; kurumsal, toplumsal ve sağlık politikalarıyla ilgili boyutları da olan bu sorunu çözmek için atılacak adımların başında "tükenmişlik" olgusunun tanınır ve üzerinde tartışılır kılınması gelmektedir.

Purpose: In our work we researched among psychiatric specialists and their assistants the level of job satisfaction and burnouts and its relation to various dynamics. In order to reach this objective it was decided to clarify socio-demographic characteristics of the psychiatrists that were studied as well as their specific work area characteristics and their levels of job satisfaction and burnout. Once we determined the problem areas we plan to provide suggestions to solve them.
Method: 87 psychiatrists from all over the world that visited the 2006 international congress of the World Psychiatry Association accepted to participate in this study. They were given a closed envelope containing three forms: Maslach burnout measurement, Minnesota work satisfaction measurement and socio-demographic information from. The objective of the study was explained to the participants and they were requested to fill out the forms.
Findings: After a study of socio-demographic characteristics, burnout and job satisfaction of psychiatrists in other countries, the following was found: TO-DT point average 10.90, MTÖ-DYS point average 4.73, MTÖ-KB point average 22.85 and job satisfaction point average 73.62.
The burnout and job satisfaction levels in the research are not significantly different based on statistical subcategories such as marital status, age, gender, work tenure and use of cigarettes.
Discussion: Burnouts are often found among people that directly work with people and in positions where the human factor is very important in the service quality. Burnout causes economical damage, people are leaving their jobs and it damages the doctor-patient relationship.
To study this issue burnout needs to be recognized as a serious problem and needs to become a topic that can be discussed. Furthermore this is not only a personal problem, but also affects corporations, society and health politics.
