Amaç: Çocuk ve ergenlerin travmayı algılamaları ve travmaya yanıt vermelerinde yetişkinlere göre farklılıklar vardır. Çocuklarda Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğu (TSSB) tanısını koymada DSM-IV tanı ölçütleri kullanılmakta ise de TSSB tanısı için gelişimsel döneme özgü tanı ölçütlerinin geliştirilmesi gerektiğini ileri sürülmektedir. TSSB ile komorbid bozuklukların ve bazı belirtilerin görülmesi sıktır. Tüm ölçütler karşılanmasa da işlevsellikte bozulmanın olduğu durumlarda tedavi düşünülmelidir. Bu çalışmada baba kaybı yaşamış ergenlerin davranışsal özelliklerinin araştırılması amaçlandı.

There are differences in
the perception of trauma or response to the trauma of children and adolescent when com­pared with adults. Although DSM-IV criteria are used to make the diagnosis of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), it is suggested that developmental specific new criteria are need­ed. Partial symptomatology and comorbidity are common. Treatment should be considered in the situation of the daily life disfunctioning even when full criteria are not met. This study aims to examine the behavioral characteristics of ado­lescents who were bereaved by fathers's deaths.
