Kronik Hastalıklı Çocuğu Olan Ailelerin Yaşadıkları Güçlükler

Bu çalışmada, kronik böbrek yetmezliği, diyabetli ve epilepsili çocuğu olan ailelerin, çocuğun hastalığına ilişkin yaşadıkları güçlükler ve hastalığın, aile yaşamı üzerindeki etkilerinin tanımlanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Çocuk Hastanesi Pediatrik Nefroloji, Endokronoloji, Nöroloji ve Hemodializ Ünitelerine başvuran 6- 18 yaş grubundaki çocukların aileleri oluşturmuştur. 6 ay süreyle her üç poliklinikte ve Hemodializ ünitesinde görüşülebilen 100 aile incelemeye alınmıştır. Araştırmada kronik hastalıklı çocuğu olan ailelerin yaşadıkları güçlükleri belirlemek amacıyla anket formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler görüşme tekniği ile toplanmış ve açık uçlu sorulara verilen yanıtlar , görüşme sırasında araştırmacı tarafından kaydedilmiştir. Ailelerin çocuğun bakımında maddi ve psikolojik yönden yardım gereksinimlerinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca ailelerin çoğunun, çocuğun bakımında bunaltı yaşadıkları ve onlara hastalıkla başetmede destek olacak kişilerin bulunmadığı görülmüştür. Bunlara ek olarak, çocuğun hastalığı nedeniyle ailenin iş ve sosyal yaşantısının ve aile üyelerinin birbirleriyle olan ilişkilerinin etkilendiği saptanmıştır.
The Problems of Parents with Chronically Ill Children
The purpose of this study is to determine the problems of the families who have children with chronic renal failure, diabetes mellitus and epilepsy and the effects of the illnes on family life. The parents who have children with chronic illnesses in the age group of 6-18 and who have applied to the Pediatric Neprologhy, Endocrinology and Neurolgy Outpatient Clinics and Hemodialysis Units of Hacettepe University Children’s Hospital constitute the universe of the study. One hundred families, who visit the three outpatient Clinics and Hemodialysis unit during a period of 6 [month]s were evaluated. Data was collected through inverviews and the responses to the open-ended questions Which were recorded by the researcher. According to the results of the study, it is observed that familles need psychological and financial support for the treatment of their children. It is also determined that most of the parents feel anxiety while taking care of the child and they are unable to find someone to support them in coping with the illness.
