Panik bozukluğun bir komponenti olmaksızın, panik hecmenin psikotik durumla birlikte bulunması, literatürde yeterince dikkat çekmeyen bir konu olmuştur. Bu, iki nedenden kaynaklanıyor olabilir: İlki, psikotik semptomların baskınlığından dolayı panik be­lirtilerin gölgelenmesi; ikincisi ise trisiklik anti-panik ajanlann bu kombine durumda, psikotik alevlenme riski nedeniyle kolayca kullanılamayışıdır. Bu bildiride, fenomenolojileri ve tedaviye yanıtları, yukarda-ki noktaların önemini vurgulayan dört olgu sunulmuştur.

Without being a component of panic disorder, panic attacks can occur in the presence of a psychotic state; a combination which has not received enough attention in the literature. This can be due to two factors: Firstly, the panic attacks are usually over-shadowed by the psychotic symptoms, which dominate the clinical picture; secondly, it is not easy to use the tricyclic anti-panic agents, in this combined state, as they have the risk of exacerbating the psychotic symptoms. The phenomenology and the treatment responses of four cases, which point out to the importance of the above mentioned factors, are presented in this report.
