Aile çevresinin ve aile üyeleri arasındaki etkileşimin psikopatolojik süreçler üzerindeki rolü uzun süredir bilinmekte olup, son yıllarda, aile tedavisi ruhsal bozuklukların başarılı tedavisi için zorunlu bir yöntem olarak benimsenmiş ve psikoterapi alanında önemli bir yer almıştır. Bu yazı aile psikopatolojisi ve aile tedavisi üzerinde genel bilgiler vermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yazının birinci bölümü aile psikopatolojisi ile ilgili olup, aile-içi etkileşimin psikodinamizması üzerine bilgiler verilerek, nevrotik ve psikosomatik aile modelleri sunulmaktadır. Yazmın ikinci bölümünde ise aile tedavisinin temel ilkeleri üzerinde durulmakta ve çeşitli aile tedavisi yöntemlerinden söz edilmektedir.

The role of the family environment and of the interaction between family members in psychopathological processes has been recognized since quite a long time. During the last decades, family therapy is accepted as a requisite for the succesful treatment of most psychological disturbances and has an important place in the field of psychotherapy. This article aims to give a general view of family psychopathology and family therapy. The first part of the article deals with family psychopathology with special emphasis upon the psychodynamics of family relationships and description of various psychopathological family models grouped under neurotic and psychosomatic families. In the second part of the article, basic principles of family psychotherapy is discussed followed by a presentation of different family therapy methods.
