Saldırgan Davranışta Anormal Glukoz Toleransı

Hipogliseminin saldırganlık ve agresyona öneğilim oluşturabileceği düşüncesinden hareketle, saldırgan davranış gösteren hastalara oral glukoz tolerans testi (OGTT) uygulandı. DSM lll-R ölçütlerine göre Antisosyai Kişilik Bozukluğu tanısı almış ve saldırgan tavır veya kendine zarar verme davranışı nedeniyle hastaneye sevkedilen 20 erkek hasta ile, yaşlan türdeş olan, 15 sağlıktı erkek kontrol deneği alındı. Her iki gruba ilaç verilmeksizin en az üç gün süreyle standart kalorili diyet uygulanarak OGTT yapıldı ve suç işleme, psikoaktif madde kullanımı, intihar girişimi, öfke, aile öyküleri, davranım bozukluklarını değerlendiren bir anket formu ile SCL-90 kendini değerlendirme ölçeği uygulandı. Açlık kan şekeri ile glukoz atımından 2 saat sonra ölçülen kan şekeri değerleri karşılaştırıldığında düzeylerin, hasta grubunda kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı derecede düşük olduğu saptandı (p=0.08, p<0.05). Psikoaktif madde kullananlar, suç işleyenler ve davranım bozukluğu gösterenlerde glukoz değerleri p<0.05 düzeyinde anlamlı düşüklük göstermekteydi.
Abnormal Glucose Tolerance in Aggressive Behaviour
The aim of this study in to evaluate whether hypoglycemia can predispose to aggressive behaviour. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) has been applied to the patients who were admitted to the hospital because of aggressive behaviour. Tests have been applied to 20 male patients who have been diagnosed as Antisocial Personality Disorder according to DSM-III-R criteria, and to 15 healthy males of similar age as the control group. Both groups have been tested for OGTT after 3 days of drug free and standart diet. SCL-90 self rating inventory and a questionnaire prepared by the authors in order to evaluate the crime, family and suicide history, drug abuse, conduct disorder and resistance to hunger have been applied as well. The comparison between two groups for serum glucose levels before, and after the second hour of OGTT revealed that the levels of the patient group were lower than the control group. Results have been found to be statistically significant by student's t-test (p=0.08,p<0.05). Serum glucose levels of the patients and two of the control subjects who had crime, drug abuse and conduct disorder history were found significantly lower compared with those of group (p<0.05).
