Yaşlılarda Psikotrop İlaçların Kullanımı

Yaşlılıkta ilaçların farmakokinetik özelliklerinin değişmesi nedeniyle kullanılacak psikotrop ilaçlann seçimi ve dozajlarının ayarlanması önem kazanmaktadır. Yaşlılarda ilaçlara düşük dozda başlamak, yan etkiler yakından izlenilerek dozu arttırmak, yetişkinlerde kullanılan olağan dozun 1/2 veya 1/3'ünü kullanmak gerekmektedir.

Psychotrop Drug Using in Elderly Patients

Choice and adjustment of dosage of psychotropic drugs are gaining importance due to changes in their pharmacokinetic properties in the elderly. It is necessary to start with low-dosage, increasing the dosage while closely observing the side effects and should be given one half or one third of the adult dosage when prescriping these drugs to the elderly patients.
