Temporal lob epilepsisi (TLE) birçok psikiyatrik belirtinin ortaya çıktığı nöropsikiyatrik bir sendromdur, TLE'li hastalarda nöbetler arası (interictal) dönemde birçok bilişsel, duygusal ve davranışsal sorunla karşılaşılabilmekte, kimi olgular için sağaltım gereği doğmaktadır. Bu yazıda TLE, TLE'deki psikoz dışta tutulmak üzere nöbetlerarası psikiyatrik fenomenoloji ve olası nedenleri gözden geçirilecek; etyolojik değerlendirme, tanı ve tedavide bütüncül yaklaşımın önemine değinilecektir

Personality Characteristics And Hysterical Symptoms In Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is a neuropsychiatric syndrome, in which psyhchiatricphenomena are not uncommon. A variety of cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems necessitate psychiatric treatment in many cases. This paper reviews the interictal psyhiatric phenomena excluding psyhosis in TLE and their probable causes. The importance of a holistic approach in exploring etiology, differential diagnosis and treatment planning is stressed in this article.
