Bu çalışmada ülkemizde çocuk ve ergenlere yönelik olarak yapılan bilişsel davranışçı müdahalelerin; bilişsel davranışçı yaklaşımın temel odağı olan işlevsel olmayan düşünceler olarak adlandırılan düşünceler üzerinde etkililiğinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bilişsel-davranışçı yaklaşıma dayalı müdahalelerin çocuk ve ergenlerin işlevsel olmayan düşünceleri üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek amacıyla meta-analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda öncelikle geniş çaplı bir alan yazın taraması yapılmıştır. ULAKBİM, Google Akademik ve YÖK tez tarama sayfasında “işlevsel olmayan düşünceler, akılcı olmayan inançlar, bilişsel üçlü, otomatik düşünceler, bilişsel hatalar” kavramlarıyla arama yapılmıştır. Bu alan yazın taraması sonucu yaklaşık 240 araştırmaya ulaşılmıştır. Daha sonra araştırmaya dahil etme kriterleri belirlenmiştir. (Deneysel desen kullanılması, çocuk ve ergenlerle yürütülmesi, işlevsel olmayan düşünceleri bağımlı değişken olarak alması gibi) Bu kriterler çerçevesinde sekiz araştırma meta analiz çalışmasına dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgular ve yorum kısmında kullanılan hesaplamaların, tablo ve grafiklerin oluşturulmasında MS Office Excel 2007 ve Comprehensive Meta Analysis (CMA) programından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre bireysel çalışmalara ait etki büyüklükleri 0,670 ile 2,793 arasında bulunmuştur. Bireysel çalışmalara ait etki büyüklüklerinin genel etki büyüklüğü 1,132 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu sonuca göre Türkiye’de yapılan bilişsel davranışçı müdahalelerin çocuk ve ergenlerin işlevsel olmayan düşünceleri üzerinde geniş düzeyde etki gösterdiği bulunmuştur

In this research, it was aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral approach-based interventions applied for children and adolescents on the beliefs labeled as dysfunctional thoughts which are the focal point of the cognitive behavioral approach. Meta-analysis method was employed in order to reveal the effects of the cognitivebehavioral approach-based interventions on children’s and adolescents’ dysfunctional thoughts. To this end, a comprehensive literature review was conducted. The concepts such as “dysfunctional thoughts, irrational beliefs, cognitive triad, automatic thoughts and cognitive errors” were searched at the Turkish Academic Network and Information Center database (ULAKBIM), Google Scholar and the Council of Higher Education’s (CoHE) theses search database. About 240 research studies were identified after conducting the literature review. Then the inclusion criteria were determined (the use of experimental design, samples chosen from among children and adolescents, and treating dysfunctional thoughts as the dependent variable etc.). Based upon the specified criteria, eight studies were included in the research. MS Office Excel 2007 and Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) programs were used to carry out the calculations and to prepare tables and graphics presented in the findings and interpretations sections. Research results concluded that the effect sizes of the individual studies were found to range between 0.670 and 2.793. The general effect size regarding the effect sizes of the individual studies was detected to be 1.132. According to these results, it may be suggested that the cognitive-behavioral approach-based interventions applied for children and adolescents have large effects on their dysfunctional thoughts in Turkey
