Çocukluk çağı kanserlerinde, tedavilerin başarı oranı son yıllarda elde edilen olumlu gelişmeler ile birlikte umut verici olsa da hastalık ve tedavi süreci çocuk ve ailesi için birçok psikososyal sorunu beraberinde getirmektedir. Günümüzde psiko-onkoloji hizmetlerinin giderek yaygınlaşması ile birlikte kanserle mücadelede sadece fiziksel sorunlar ele alınmamakta bu süreçte birey ve ailesinin yaşadığı psikolojik sorunlar da değerlendirilmektedir. Kanserli çocukların fiziksel ve psikolojik sağlıklarının, ailelerinden aldıkları bakımın kalitesiyle bağlantılı olduğu gerçeği göz önüne alındığında ailelerin yaşadığı psikososyal sorunların tanılanması, bu sorunları ortaya çıkaracak risk faktörlerinin belirlenmesi ve gerekli önlemlerin alınması, sorunlara erken müdahale edilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu derlemede kanserli çocuğa sahip ailelerin psikososyal sorunları ve bu süreçte psikiyatri hemşirelerine düşen sorumlulukların aktarılması amaçlanmıştır.

In childhood cancers, although the success rate of treatments is promising with positive developments in recent years, the disease and treatment process brings many psychosocial problems for children and their families. With the gradual popularization of psycho-oncology services recently, not only the physical problems are addressed in the fight against cancer, but also the psychological problems experienced by the individual and his/her family are addressed as well. Considering that the physical and psychological health of children with cancer is related to the quality of the care they receive from their families, it is of great importance to identify the psychosocial problems experienced by the families, to determine the risk factors that will reveal these problems and to take the necessary precautions and to address in the problems as soon as possible. This review aims to discuss psychosocial problems of families with children with cancer and the responsibilities of psychiatric nurses.
