Bu olgu sunumunda kronik ürtiker gelişen çiftte stres oluşturan yaşam olayları ve başa çıkma yolları literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır. Kronik ürtiker emosyonel ve stres yaratıcı etmenlerle sıkı ilişki içinde olan, ciltte kaşıntı, kızarıklık ve kabarmalarla giden polietyolojik bir hastalıktır. Anksiyete, depresyon ve kişilik yapısının pek çok çalışmada hastalığı etkilediği görülmüştür. Stres yaratan yaşam koşulları sonucu, her ikisinde de distimik bo¬zukluk şeklinde psikiyatrik tanı koyduracak kadar psikolojik zorlanmalar olması yanısıra, emosyonların kronik ürtiker şeklinde cilt aracılığıyla boşalması söz konusudur. Eşler arasında etkileşim sonucu her iki bireyde çeşitli sorunlar ortaya çıkabilir. Aile içinde sınırların kaybolması, kendilerini birbirinin uzantısı gibi algılamaları, her ikisinde de ürtiker belirtilerinin gelişmesine neden olabilir. Eşler birbirinden etkilenerek, ortak başa çıkma yolları yada ürtiker gibi tepkiler geliştirebilir. Evliliklerinde uyum yaratmak için eşler giderek çeşitli şekillerde birbirine benzeyebilir, bu şekilde eşit ve dolayısıyla güvenli bir ortam yaratmaya çalışabilirler.

In this case report, stressful life events and coping mechanisms has been defined and discussed in a couple with chronic urticaria in the light of literature. Chronic urticaria is a poliethiological disease with itching and wheals as main complaints. Chronic urticaria is related with negative psychological states, depression, anxiety and personality characteristics. Dynamic.studies have considered chronic urticaria as a psychosomatic expression of repressed hostility. Besides, stressful life conditions lead to psychiatric disorder, as dysthimia and the release of emotions lead to development of chronic urticaria in both of the couple. Although the skin lesions of husband had began thirty [year]s ago, the search for tre¬atment was initiated when his wife had developed similar symptoms two [year]s ago. After that time they have both received a comprehensive demnatological and psychiatric treatment. Each partner was born in the east part of our country. The caring and rearing in their childhood may not be probably enough and satisfying. They might not get adequate approval and attention from their parents in their hard life conditions. They married at a very young age, they experienced immigration and have struggled with hard life conditions, try to develop adaptation and coping mechanisms. The husband himself and also his family had some kind of psychosomatic disorders concerning skin, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, metabolic systems. His wife had no psychosomatic disorder other than chronic urticaria, but her family had cerebrovascular disease and cancer. One of the daughters have developed anorexia nervosa about which special family characteristics such as overprotective and rigid have been reported. Avoidance of conflict, diffusion of borders, guilt and hostile feelings are also important issues in the families of patients with anorexia nervosa. It is important to consider individual with his/her environment. The couple may influence each other and develop common way of coping ways as chronic urticaria. Many couples look like each other in the course of time to try to create an equal and secure environment.
