Yanık merkezi hemşirelerinde anksiyete, depresyon, iş doyumu, tükenme ve stresle başa çıkma: Karşılaştırmalı bir çalışma

Amaç: Yanık Merkezi (YM) hemşirelerinde iş çevresi stres faktörlerinin algılanma düzeyleri ile stresle başa çıkma, anksiyete,
depresyon, iş doyumu ve tükenmişlik düzeylerinin; Dahiliye Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi (YDBÜ) ve Genel Cerrahi Servisi (CS)
hemşireleriyle karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü YM, DYBÜ ve CS’ten
8’er olmak üzere toplam 24 hemşireye; deneklerin sosyodemografik özelliklerini, alışkanlıklarını ve iş çevresi stres faktörlerini
sorgulayan çoktan seçmeli bir görüşme anketi ile Stresle Başa Çıkma Ölçeği (SBÖ), Hastane Anksiyete Depresyon Ölçeği
(HADÖ), İş Doyumu Ölçeği (İDÖ) ve Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği (MTÖ) uygulandı. İstatistiksel değerlendirmede Ki-kare ve
Kruskall Wallis H testleri kullanıldı. İstatistiksel anlamlılık %95 (p<0.05) olarak kabul edildi. Sonuçlar: YM hemşirelerinde
günlük çay/kahve alımı, DYBÜ hemşirelerinde ise sakinleştirici alımı sıklıkları anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulundu. YM hemşirelerinin
DYBÜ ve CS hemşirelerine göre iş çevresi stres faktörlerinden “bilgi yetersizliği”, “çalışma ekibiyle ilişkiler”, “hastalarla işbirliğinde
yetersizlik” ve “hasta ölümü”‘nü anlamlı düzeyde ve daha şiddetli algıladıkları saptandı. Yine YM grubunun SBÖ kendine güvenli
yaklaşım ve MTÖ duygusal tükenme puanları diğer iki gruba göre; YM ve DYBÜ gruplarının HADÖ anksiyete ve toplam puanları
ise CS grubuna göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olarak saptandı. Tartışma: Çalışmanın sonuçlarından, YM hemşirelerinin iş çevresi
stres faktörlerinden daha çok etkilendikleri, motivasyonlarının ve iş doyumlarının bozulmamasına rağmen, anksiyete ve duygusal
tükenme düzeylerinin arttığı anlaşılmaktadır.
Anxiety, depression, job satisfaction, burnout and coping with stress in nurses of a burn unit: a comparative study
Objective: The aim of the study was to assess levels of perceiving to stress factors of working environment and coping
mechanisms as well as anxiety, depression, job satisfaction and burnout levels of the nurses working in a burn unit and
compare them with that of the nurses working in intensive care unit of internal medicine and department of general surgery.
Method: A total of 24 voluntary nurses, 8 from each department, were enrolled to the study. A multiple choise questionnaire
determining the sociodemographic aspects, habits and working environment stress factors of the nurses were administered as
well as Stress Coping Scale (SCS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS), and Maslach
Burnout Scale (MBS). Chi Square and Kruskall Wallis H tests were used for statistical analysis. Ninety-five per cent (p<0.05) was
accepted as statistically significant. Results: It was found that daily tea and coffee intake among the burn unit nurses and daily
sedative intake among the nurses of intensive care unit of internal medicine were significantly high. “Insufficient knowledge”,
“relationship with working team”, “poor cooperation from patients”, and “deaths of patients” were perceived significantly higher
as stress factors in working environment by burn unit nurses. SCS self-confident approach and MBS emotional exhausting
scores of burn unit nurses were significantly high comparing to that of the other groups. HADS anxiety and total scores of
nurses working in the burn unit and intensive care unit were significantly higher than that of the nurses of general surgery
department. Discussion: It was concluded from the study that the nurses of the burn unit were relatively more affected by
stress factors of working environment and anxiety, and emotional exhaustion levels of burn unit nurses were increased in spite
of having job satisfaction and sufficient self-confident approach.
