Bu yazıda iki uçlu duygudurum bozukluğu tanılı olgularda 16 seans olarak planlanıp sürdürülen bir sosyometrik-piskodramatik grup terapisi uygulamasının seyir ve içeriği tanıtılmıştır. İki uçlu duygudurum bozukluğu, etkin olarak lityum ve diğer bazı ilaçlarla ve yardımcı psikoterapi ile tedavi edilir. Birincil seçenek olan ilaç sağaltımı çoğu hastayı manik ve depresif ataklardan kurtarır. Psikoterapi de geçmiş atakların etkileri ele alnmasına ve manik depresif bir hasta olmanın pratik ve varoluşsal sonuçları ile başetmeye yardım eder. Ayrıca ilaç kullanımı ile ilgili olarak işbirliğini artırmada yararlı olur. Bu yazıda, iki uçlu duygudurum bozukluğu tanılı olgularda 16 seans olarak planlanıp sürdürülen bir sosyometrik psikodramatik grup terapisi uygulamasının seyir ve içeriği tanıtılmıştır. Bu uygulamanın temel amaçları, hastalık algısında gerçekçi değişimleri sağlamak, hasta olarak etiketlenmenin sosyal sonuçlarını ele almak, bireyler için özgül sorunlar oluşturan psikolojik ve sosyal yaşantılar için duygusal ve bilişsel çözüm perspektiflerini grup aracılığıyla genişletmek olmuştur.

In this paper, the course and content of a 16 sessioned group therapy with bipolar patients is presented. Bipolar mood disorder is treated with pharmacotherapy and adjunctive psychotherapy. Pharmacotherapy, being the first choice, is effective in treating the manic and depressive episodes and providing prophylaxis. While, psychotherapy helps to handle with impacts of previous episodes and existential and practical consequences of being a manic depressive patient. It also helps to improve compliance to treatment. In this paper, the course and content of a 16 sessioned group therapy with bipolar patients is presented. The basic goals of this group work were to provide realistic changes in disease perception, to work on the social results of being labeled as mentally ill and to widen the emotional and cognitive solution perspectives for specific psychological and social problems for a group member.
