Bu sistematik derlemenin amacı sağlık profesyonellerinin yaşlıya şiddet ve yaşlı istismarına yönelik bilgi ve tutumlarını değerlendiren çalışmaların incelenmesi, mevcut durumun belirlenmesi ve gelecekte yapılabilecek araştırmalara dayanak sağlanmasıdır. Konuyla ilgili ve dahil etme kriterlerine uygun 39 yayın çalışma kapsamında değerlendirilmiştir. Tüm yayınlar çalışma yöntemleri ve bulguları açısından sistematize edilerek incelenmiştir. Bu sistematik incelemede sağlık profesyonellerinin çoğunun sıklıkla kadın ve çocuğa yönelik istismar vakalarını belirledikleri ve rapor ettikleri görülmüştür. Çalışmada sağlık profesyonellerinin fiziksel, cinsel, emosyenel, ekonomik gibi farklı istismar tiplerini belirleme, değerlendirme, izleme, rapor etme ve yasal girişimlerde bulunma gibi konulara yönelik yeterli bilgi, beceri ve tutumlarının olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Sağlık profesyonellerinin istimara yönelik bilgi ve tutumları arasında farklılığın olmadığı da görülmüştür. Yaşlıya yönelik şiddet ve yaşlı istismarı konusunda sağlık profesyonellerinin bilgi ve beceri eksikliklerinin ortaya konulduğu bu sonuçların sağlık profesyonellerine yönelik gerekli eğitimlerin planlanmasında, istismar vakalarını belirlemek için protokoller geliştirilmesinde ve yaşlıya yönelik şiddet ve istismarla mücadele etmede yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

The objective of this systematic review is to examine the studies evaluating knowledge and attitude of healthcare professionals about violence and abuse against elderly and to determine the current status, providing a basis for further research in future. A total of 39 publications related to the issue, which meet the inclusion criteria were evaluated within the scope of this study. All reports were systematized and analyzed in terms of the study methods and results. It was found in this systematic review healthcare professionals were observed to detect and report the abuse cases against women and children rather than elderly. It was concluded from the results of this study that, healthcare professional have not sufficient knowledge, skills and attitude for the detection, evaluation, monitoring, reporting and taking legal action for various types of abuse including physical, sexual, emotional and economical abuses. Furthermore, it was observed that no difference was found among knowledge and attitude of healthcare professionals for abuse. With systematization of the studies conducted on this issue, scientific results were obtained about the important and extent of this problem. We believe that, these results that revealed the lack of knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals about violence and abuse against elderly would be helpful in planning the necessary training programs for healthcare professionals, developing protocols for identification of abusive cases and fighting with violence and abuse directed to elderly.
