Sosyal Fobi ve Çekingen Kişilik Bozukluğu: Sosyal Fobili Bir Grup Hasta Üzerinde Kavramsal Bir Tartışma

Sosyal fobi (SF) ve çekingen kişilik bozukluğu (ÇKB) farklı kavramlardır. Birçok olguda bu iki tanının birlikte bulunduğu görülür. Bu çalışmada 17 sosyal fobi olgusunda ÇKB varlığı araştırıldı. Çalışmada SF’li olguların tümünde çekingen kişilik bozukluğu saptanmıştır. Bu bulgu bize bu iki tanının birlikte ele alınması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Literatürdeki bilgilere dayanarak SF ve ÇKB tanılarının klinik önemi ve sınırları tartışıldı.
Social Phobia and Avoidant Personality Disorder: A Conceptual Discussion on A Group of Patients With Social Phobia
Social Phobia (SP) and avoidant personality disorder (APD) are distinct clinical entities. In many cases there is a comorbidity between these two diagnoses. In this study the existence of APD in a sample of 17 social phobic patients was examined. Present paper shows that all of the patients with social phobia have avoidant personality disorder. According to our results, these two diagnoses should be considered together. The diagnostic importance and the limits of SP and APD are discussed.
