Günümüzde giderek yaygınlaşmaya başlayan sentetik maddeler (bonzai) ülkemizde ve dünyada başta gençler olmak üzere toplum sağlığı için ciddi tehditler oluşturmaktadır. Sentetilk maddeler esrardaki aktif bileşene benzer etkiler göstermelerine rağmen birçok fiziksel ve psikolojik belirtiler ile ciddi rahatsızlıklara ve ölümlere neden olabilmektedir. Erişimin kolay ve ucuz olması, kokusuz olmaları, klasik tarama testlerinde tespit edilememeleri bu maddelerin yaygınlaşmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Bu makalede literatür doğrultusunda sentetik maddelerin (bonzai) özellikle gençler arasında yaygınlaşma nedenleri üzerinde durulmuştur.

Synthetic drugs, that are nowadays becoming more prevalent, pose serious threat to public health and especially to teenagers in Turkey and around the world. Though showing similar impact as the active ingredient in marijuana, synthetic drugs may cause serious diseases and death, with physical and psychological symptoms. Easy and cheap access, being odourless, not being detected in standard drug tests have enabled the widespread usage of these drugs. In this article, the reasons for the prevalence of synthetic drugs especially among teenagers are presented in accordance with literature review.
