Grupla psikolojik danışmanın üniversite öğrencilerinin depresyon ve yalnızlık düzeylerine etkisi

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinde gözlenen yalnızlık ve depresyonun psikolojik danışma gruplarıyla ne derece azaltılabileceğini incelemektir. Yöntem : Araştırmaya 49 öğrenci (34 kız, 15 erkek) katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin 29'u (15 kız, 14 erkek) psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik lisans programının gereği katılmak zorunda oldukları dört ayrı psikolojik danışma grubuna atanmışlar ve deney grubu olarak adlandırılmışlardır. Böyle bir uygulamaya katılmak zorunda olmayan toplam 20 gönüllü örenci (11 kız, 9 erkek) kontrol grubu olarak adlandırılmıştır. Öğrencilere Çok Yönlü Depresyon Envanteri (ÇDE) ve Yalnızlık Ölçeği (UCLA-LS), psikolojik danışma gruplarının öncesinde ve hemen sonrasında uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: İlk uygulama sonunda ÇDE'nin Bilişsel Güçlük ve Öğrenilmiş Çaresizlik alt puanlarında
kontrol grubunun puan ortalamalarının deney grubundan anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu; son test sonucunda bu farkın korunduğu, ancak deney grubunun suçluluk ve kötümserlik alt puanlarıyla toplam ÇDE puanlarında kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı düzeyde azalma olduğu görülmüştür. Tartışma: Kazanılan grupla psikolojik danışma yaşantısının depresyonun azalmasına etkileri tartışılmıştır.
The effect of group counseling on depression and loneliness level of college students
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of group counseling on depression and loneliness level of college students. Method: A total of 49 students (34 females, 15 males) participated in the study. Out of 49 students 29 (15 females, 14 males) were fourth grade counseling students who attended to
group counseling as a requirement of their program. They were assigned to four counseling groups and called as experimental group. Remaining 20 student (11 females, 9 males) were volunteers who did not attend to group counseling as a requirement and they were volunteers who did not attend to group counseling as a requirement and they were considered as control group. Multiscore Depression Inventory (MDI) and UCLA-Loneliness Scale were administered pre-and post-treatment
to all subjects. Results: The results of the pre-test revealed significant differences between Cognitive Difficulty and Learned Helplessness subscrose of MDI of experimental and control groups. The results of psot-test indicated that there were significant differences between Cognitive Difficulty, Guilt, Pessimism, Learned Helplessness, and total MDI scores of experimental and control groups. Conclusions: The effects of group counseling experiences on the decrease of depression were discussed.
