Bu araştırmada grup algısını ölçen Kişi Algısı Ölçeği (KAÖ) çeşitli gruplar için sınanmıştır. Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amcı, KAÖ’nin faktör yapısını belirlemek ve geçerliğini ve güvenirliğini sınamaktır. Yöntem: Daha önce geliştirilmiş bir ölçek olan KAÖ, bu araştırmada, Polisler, Türkiler (Orta Asyalılar), öğretim üyeleri, siyasetçiler ve Kayserililer hakkındaki algının belirlenmesi için deneklere uygulanmıştır. Faktör analizi (N=467) ve geçerlik-güvenirlik (N=550) için ayrı örneklemler üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Sonuçlar ve değerlendirme: Faktör analizi sonucunda, yorumlanabilir dört faktör elde edilmiştir. Bunlara sosyal ahlak, olumlu sosyal ilişki, olumsuz sosyal ilişki ve dış görünüm adları verilmiştir. Tek başına bir faktör oluşturan bir madde ile faktör yükü düşük bir madde ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. Ölçek son şekliyle 34 maddedir. Güvenirlik için Cronbach alfa ve madde-toplam korelasyon katsayıları hesaplanmış ve yeterli düzeyde bulunmuştur. Geçerlik, grup-içi ve grup-dışı algı farklılığı incelenerek ve deneklerin belirttikleri genel değerlendirme puanı ile ölçek puanı arasındaki korelasyona bakılarak sınanmış ve ölçeğin yapı ve ölçüt geçerliğini kanıtlayan bulgular elde edilmiştir. KA Ö ’nin dört alt ölçeğinin de geçerlik ve güvenirliklerine bakılmış ve yeterli düzeyde bulunmuştur.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to determine factorial structure of The Person Perception Scale (PPS) and to test its reliability and validity for various groups. Method: PPS had been developed to measure the social perception about Turkish workers who came back from Germany. In this study, the scale was administered to the subjects to measure the perception toward policemen, Turkish people from Middle Asia, politicians, professors and the people from Kayseri. Factor analysis (N=467), and reliability and validity (N=550) of the scale were determined using two different samples. Results and conclusion: The results of factor analysis yielded four interpretable factors. These factors were called as social morality, positive social relations, negative social relations and physical appearance. Two items were dropped since one of them was belonged to the fifth factor that had only one item, and the other one had lower factor loading. Thus, the scale consisted of 34 items. For reliability, it was calculated Cronbach alphas, item-total correlations, and it was found that they were significantly high. For validity, it was examined the difference between total perception scores of in-group and out-group, and it was found that there was a significant difference. In addition, the correlations between the PPS scores and general evaluation scores ranged between 0-100 about perception object were calculated and it was shown the evidence for the criterion validity of the scale. The validity and reliability of four subscales of the SSP were also sufficiently high.
