Bu araştırmada benlik saygısı geliştirme programı¬nın düşük benlik saygısına sahip ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin benlik saygısı düzeylerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Deney(n=l2) ve kontrol grubu(n=12)nu oluşturan katılımcılara (N=24) benlik saygısını geliştirmeye yönelik sekiz oturumluk program öncesinde ve sonrasında benlik saygısı ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Deney grubu 8 oturumluk benlik saygısı geliştirme programına alınmış, kontrol grubuna herhangi bir işlem yapılmamıştır. Sonuçlar benlik saygısını geliştirmeye yönelik olarak düzenlenen programın düşük benlik saygısına sahip ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin benlik saygısını artırmada anlamlı düzeyde etkili olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

The effect of a self-esteem enrichment program on the self- esteem level of the eight grade students with low self-esteem was investigated in this study. The self- esteem scale was administered to the participants (n=24) in both experimental (n=12) and control group (n=24) prior to the program and after the completion of the program. While the self-esteem enrichment program, composed of eight-session, was carried out with the experimental group, no treatment was aplied to the control group. Findings of the research showed that the self-esteem enrichment program was effective to improve self-esteem level of the eight grade students with low self-esteem.
