Araştırmanın amacı akılcı olmayan düşünce düzeyleri farklı unıversıte ogrencilerinın problem çözme becerilerini değerlendirmelerini bazı değişkenler açısından ıncelemektir. 1998-1999 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Hacettepe Universıtesı'nin bölümlerine devam eden 767 ogrenciye Akılcı Olmayan Düşünceler Ölçegi Problem Çözme Envanteri ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin Akılcı Olmayan Düşünceler Ölçeği'nden aldıkları puanlara göre % 28'lik düşük ve yüksek gruplara giren 216'şar, toplam 432 ogrencı ıle araştırmanın orneklemi oluşturulmuştur. Verilere İki Yönlü Varyans Analizi ve anlamlı bulunan değerler ıçin yapılan LSD (en küçük önemli fark kontrolü) testi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmış ve bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The main purpose fails study is to examine the per ception of problem solving skills of university students whose irrational thoughts are different, according to some variables. 767 students attending various departments of Hacettepe University had been administered Irrational Thoughts Inventory, Problem Solving Inventory and Personal Data Questionnarie in the spring term of 1998-99 academic year. In the analysts of the data, based on their Irrational Thoughts Inventory score students were sequenced on a list starting with the highest and going down to the lowest score. After sequencing the scores 28% of groups from the top and bottom of the list were selected (432 subjects) and included in the study. Results obtained from this 432 subject were analysed using analyses of variance and LSD ( least significance difference) test. The finding of the research were discussed under the light of literature and some suggestions were made
