Bu araştırmada kontrol odağı ve eleştirel düşünmenin üniversite öğrencilerinin duygusal ilişkilerindeki doyumsuzlukları ele alış biçimleri üzerindeki rolü araştırılmıştır. Araştırmaya Ankara’da bulunan beş üniversitenin farklı fakültelerinden 580 (373 kız ve 207 erkek) üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmanın tüm aşamalarında tesadüfi (convenient) örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında İlişki Problemlerine Tepkilerim Ölçeği’nin (İPTÖ - My Responses to Relationship Problems Scale) Türkçe’ye uyarlaması yapılmıştır. İPTÖ bireylerin yakın duygusal ilişkilerinde yaşadıkları doyumsuzluklara yönelik verdikleri tepkileri ölçmek için geliştirilmiştir. Ana çalışmada, kontrol odağı ve eleştirel düşünmenin doyumsuzluk tepkileri üzerindeki etkilerini test edebilmek için aracılı regresyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar kontrol odağının terk etme, dile getirme ve ihmal puanlarını anlamlı biçimde yordadığını göstermiştir. Kontrol odağının terk etme ve ihmal puanları üzerinde negatif, dile getirme puanları üzerinde ise pozitif etkisi olduğu görülmüştür. Son olarak, terk etme ve dile getirme puanlarının eleştirel düşünme tarafından anlamlı olarak yordandığı belirlenmiştir. Eleştirel düşünmenin dile getirme puanları üzerinde pozitif, terk etme puanları üzerindeyse negatif etkisi olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın bulguları yakın ilişkiler, kontrol odağı ve eleştirel düşünme literatürü ışığında tartışılmıştır

In the present study, the role of locus of control and critical thinking in handling dissatisfactions in the romantic relationships of university students was examined. Five hundred and eighty university students (373 females, 207 males) from different faculties of fi ve universities located in Ankara voluntarily participated in the study. Convenient sampling procedure was used in all phases of the study. In the fi rst phase of the study, My Responses to Relationship Problems Scale (MRRPS) was adapted into Turkish. MRRPS was originally developed to measure individuals’ responses to dissatisfactions in their close relationships. In the main study, four separate, moderated regression analyses were conducted to assess the predictive role of locus of control, critical thinking, and their interaction on exit, voice, loyalty and neglect responses. The results indicated that locus of control signifi cantly predicted exit, voice and neglect scores. While locus of control had negative effects on exit and neglect scores, it had a positive effect on voice scores. Finally, critical thinking signifi cantly predicted exit and voice scores. The effect of critical thinking on voice scores was positive and its effect on exit scores was negative. The fi ndings of the present study were discussed in the framework of locus of control, critical thinking and close relationships.
