Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ebeveyn Rolüne İlişkin Kendilik Algısı Ölçeği’nin (ERKA; Self Perception of Parental Role - SPPR) Türkçe uyarlamasının geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. MacPhee, Benson ve Bullock (1986) tarafın- dan geliştirilen ölçek, ebeveyn bilişlerini konu alan çalışmalarda en fazla kullanılan ölçme araçlarından biridir. Çalışma, Mersin ili sınırları içinde yaşayan, ikinci kuşak annelerden ve onların anneleri olup çalışmada anneanne adı ile anılacak birinci kuşak annelerden oluşan toplam 300 kişilik örneklem yardımıyla yapılmıştır. ERKA Ölçeğinin yapı geçerliğini sınamak amacıyla varimaks eksen döndürme yöntemi kullanılarak faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, ERKA Ölçeği Türkçe uyarlamasından bazı maddeler atılarak orijinal dört faktörlü yapıya uyum sağlanmış ve bu yapıya dayalı olarak güvenirlik ve geçerlik değerleri elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini sınamak için iç tutarlık katsayısı ve test-tekrar test korelasyonu hesaplanmıştır. Ölçüt bağıntılı geçerliğini sınamak için ise ölçeğin Yaşam Yönelimi Testi (YYT) ile korelasyonuna bakılmıştır. YYT ölçeğinin ERKA Ölçeği’nin yeterlilik alt ölçeği ile .64, rol doyumu ölçeği ile .30 ve rol dengelemesi alt ölçeği ile .29 düzeyinde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular kültürel bağlamda tartışılmıştır.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Self- Perception of Parental Scale (SPPR). The scale, developed by MacPhee, Benson ve Bullock (1986), has been most frequently used as a measurement device in studies of parental cognitions. The study was made with the help of total 300 samples of second generation mothers living in the city of Mersin and their first generation mothers whom named as grandmothers within the study. To determine the construct validity of SPPR, factor analysis was conducted by using principal component analysis with varimax rotation. According to the result of the factor analysis, some items were discarded to accord the Turkish version of SPPR scale to the original four factors structure; and depending on this structure, reliability and validity values were obtained. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability were used to determine the reliability of the scale. The correlation between the scale and the Life Orientation Test was calculated to investigate criterion validity. A relation was found between Life Orientation Test and competence .64, role satisfaction .30 and role balance .29 subscales of SPPR. The findings were discussed in cultural context.
