Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği (ETÖ)

Bu çalışmanın amacı, anne ve babaların, 2-6 yaş arasındaki çocuklarını yetiştirirken gösterdikleri ebeveynlik tutumlarının belirlenmesini sağlayacak bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Bu amaçla, “demokratik”, “otoriter”, “aşırı koruyucu” ve “izin verici” olmak üzere dört boyuttan oluşan 62 maddelik bir ölçek oluşturulmuştur. Ölçeğin geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması için verilerin toplandığı örneklem grubu, 2-6 yaş arasında çocuğa sahip, düşük, orta ve yüksek sosyo-ekonomik düzeylerde olan 420 anne ve babadır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini sınamak için ise ölçek, ebeveyn tutumlarını ölçen bir diğer ölçekle birlikte 56 anne ve babaya uygulanmıştır. Geçerlik çalışmaları çerçevesinde yapılan Temel Bileşenler ve Varimax Döndürmesi analizleri sonucunda 16 madde ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. Bu şekilde ölçek 46 maddeyle son halini almıştır. Yapılan güvenirlik analizleri sonucunda Cronbach alfa değerleri “demokratik” boyut için .83, “otoriter” boyut için .76, “aşırı koruyucu” boyut için .75 ve “izin verici” boyut için ise .74 olarak bulunmuştur. Geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri sonuçları, bu çalışma ile oluşturulan Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği’nin (ETÖ), yeterli düzeyde psikometrik özellliklere sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.
Parent Attitude Scale (PAS)
The purpose of the present study was to develop a scale which determines parenting attitudes towards children aged between 2 and 6. For this purpose, a scale with 62 items was developed. The scale consisted of four dimensions: democratic, authoritarian, overprotective, and permissive. Data were collected from a sample of 420 participants who were parents of children aged from 2 to 6 to test reliability and validity of the scale. Participants were selected from three different types of socioeconomic levels: low, middle, and high. The scale was also given to 56 parents to test the construct validity. According to the results of the principal component analysis with varimax rotation, 16 items were excluded from the scale. The final version of the scale consisted of 46 items. Internal consistencies for the democratic, authoritarian, overprotective, and permissive subscales were calculated and Cronbach’s alpha values were found as .83, .76, .75, and .74 respectively. The results of the validity and reliability analyses showed that Parents Attitude Scale (PAS) has sound psychometric properties.
