Aile terapisindeki kadın kuramcılardan ilki olan Virginia Satir, farklı problemlerin tedavisinde etkin bir terapi ortaya koymuştur. Literatürde Satir Aile Terapisinin farklı kültürlerdeki uygulamalarına yönelik çalışmalar olmasına karşın, bu yaklaşımın Türkiye’deki uygulamalarına ilişkin araştırmalar sınırlıdır. Bu bağlamda, bu çalışmanın temel hedefini, Satir Aile Terapisinin kuramsal bakış açısını gözden geçirme ve film analizi yöntemini kullanarak kuramın uygulamasını örneklendirme oluşturmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, Satir Aile Terapisinin kuramsal kavramları, terapistin rolü, ailenin değerlendirilmesi, terapinin amacı ve terapide kullanılan teknikler açıklanacak ve “Annem Uğruna (One True Thing)” isimli filmin analizi ile açıklanan kavramlar örneklendirilecektir. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışmanın, Satir Aile Terapisi ile ilgili kuramsal bilgiyi destekleyerek ve bu yaklaşımın uygulamasına örnek oluşturarak alanda çalışan ya da halen eğitimini sürdüren uzmanlara kaynak oluşturacağı düşünülmektedir.

Virginia Satir, the women pioneer of family therapy, introduced an effective therapy to the treatment of various problems. In spite of the fact that applications of Satir Family Therapy in different cultures are exemplified in the literature, there is limited number of research related with the applications of this approach in Turkey. In this context, this article mainly aims to review conceptual frame of Satir Family Therapy and to exemplify this approach with the method of film analysis. In this direction, theoretical concepts, role of the therapist, evaluation of families, purpose of therapy and intervention techniques of Satir Family Therapy are described and exemplified with a film analysis of “One True Thing”. As a result, this article will be a resource for professionals either working or continuing their education through strengthening the theoretical frame of the Satir Family Therapy, and an example of the applications of this approach.
