Çocukluk ve ergenlik döneminde ortaya çıkan psikiyatrik bozukluklar, döneme özgü gelişimsel görevleri de bozar ve gelecekte ortaya çıkacak yeni sorunlara zemin hazırlarlar. Ergenlik dönemi; yaşamın ikinci on yılını kapsayan, çocukluk ve erişkinlik arasında kalan ve önemli biyopsikososyal değişimlerin yaşadığı bir dönemdir. Anksiyete bozuklukları ergenlikte en sık görülen psikiyatrik bozukluklardır. Ergenlik döneminin normal özelliği gibi algılanıp gözden kaçtığında erişkin anksiyete bozukluğu, depresyon ve kişilik bozukluğu tablolarına zemin hazırlayan bu bozuklukların klinisyenler tarafından doğru tanınması ve tedavi edilmesi önemlidir. Ergenlerde görülen anksiyete bozukluklarını etiyolojisinde biyolojik yatkınlıklar, döneme özgü sorunlar ve ebeveyn psikopatolojisi bir arada rol oyanar. Ergenlerde görülen anksiyete bozukluklarının erişkin dönemde depresyon, alkol madde bağımlılığı ve erişkin anksiyete bozukluklarına zemin hazırladığı, yaşam kalitesini bozduğu gösterilmiştir. Tedavi planının bu çok faktörlü etiyoloji göz önünde tutularak yapılması gereklidir. Tedavide amaç yalnızca anksiyete bozukluğunun tedavisi değil ergenin sağlıklı gelişiminin desteklenmesi ve bu ergenlerde erişkin dönemde ortaya çıkma olasılığı yüksek olan diğer psikopatolojilere karşı koruyucu tedavi planlanmasıdır. Bu yazıda ergenlik döneminde görülen anksiyete bozukluklarının klinik tablosu, tanı ve tedavi özellikleri gelişimsel bir bakış açısı çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır.

The phenomenology and the treatment of anxiety disorders in adolescents Psychiatric disorders that manifest in childhood and adolescence distrupt the developmental processes and set the stage for the manifestation of other disorders in adulthood. Adolescence is a period that spans the second decade of life between childhood and adulthood, where profound bio-psycho-social changes occur for each individual. Anxiety disorders make up the most common type of psychiatric disorders observed in adolescence. When anxiety disorders in teens are ignored under the perception that they are commonplace features of adolescence itself, they promote the manifestation of adult anxiety disorders, depression and personality disorders in later years. Therefore, it is crucial that such anxiety disorders are accurately identified and treated by clinicians. In the etiology of adolescent anxiety disorders, biological tendencies, problems associated with adolescence, and the parents'psychopathology are indicated to have a combined effect. It is well-known that adolescent anxiety disorders make way for adult depression, alcohol and substance abuse, and adult anxiety disorders, and therefore diminish one’s quality of life. A plan for treatment should take into account the multiple factors of the etiology. The purpose of treatment is not only to treat the anxiety disorder itself, but to support healthy developmental processes and to prevent the psychopathology that is likely to occur when such an individual becomes an adult. This text examines the clinical aspects, diagnostic criteria, and treatment methods of adolescent anxiety disorders in a developmental psychopathology perspective.
