Çok Boyutlu Sağlık Denetim Odağı Ölçeğinin C-Formunun Güvenirlilik ve Geçerlilik Çalışması

Bu çalışma, Çok Boyutlu Sağlık Denetim Odağı Ölçeği (ÇBSDOÖ) C Formunun geçerlik ve
güvenirliğini Son Dönem Kronik Böbrek Yetmezliği (SDBY) olan bir Türk hasta grubunda
incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Örneklem, toplam 109 erkek ve 87 kadından oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin
güvenirliği; iç tutarlılık ve 2 aylık bir test-tekrar test güvenirliği dikkate alınarak
değerlendirilirken; geçerlik, ölçüt ve yapı geçerliği dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Ölçüt
geçerliğine yönelik hipotezleri test etmek için, hastalar ÇBSDO ölçeği Form C, Kısa Form 36
ve Genel Sağlık Anketi-12’yi doldurmuşlardır. Diyet ve sıvı kısıtlamalarına uyum; diyaliz
seansları arası kilo alımı, kan serum üre, potasyum ve kreatinin seviyeleri gibi klinik
verilerden faydalanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular ölçeğin iç tutarlılığının (İç SDO =.82;
Şans SDO =.82; Doktorlar SDO =.63; Güçlü Diğerleri SDO =.57) ve test-tekrar test
güvenirliğinin (İç SDO, .88; Şans SDO, .83; Doktorlar SDO, .72; Güçlü Diğerleri SDO, .57)
yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. Ölçüt geçerliği için elde edilen bulgular, hipotezleri kısmi
olarak desteklemekte ve geçerlik için kanıt sağlamaktadır. Bu ölçeğin geçerliğinin
incelenmesi adına daha çok çalışma gerekmektedir. Yine de, bu ölçeğin SDBY hastalarında
sağlık denetim odağının yaşam kalitesi, duygusal iyilik durumu ve tedaviye uyum gibi sonuç
değişkenlerine etkisi incelenirken kullanılabileceği öngörülmektedir.
Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale C Form: A Reliability and Validity Study
This study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale (MHLC) Form C in a Turkish sample of patients with End-Stage Renal Failure (ESRF). The sample consisted of 109 men and 87 women. The reliability of the scale was assessed by paying attention to internal consistency and 2 months test-retest reliability whereas its validity was assessed by paying attention to construct and criterion validities. To determine the criterion validity of the scale, a number of hypotheses concerning the ways in which locus of control were related to quality of life, emotional well-being and adherence to diet and fluid restrictions were tested. To test these hypotheses, patients completed the MHLC-Form C, SF-36 and the General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). Adherence to diet and fluid restrictions were assessed through clinical measures including interdialytic weight gain and blood urea, potassium and creatinine levels. The findings showed that the scale was internally consistent (Internal HLOC =.82; Chance HLOC =.82; Doctors HLOC=.63; Powerful Others HLOC =.57) and had high test-retest reliability (Internal HLOC, .88; Chance HLOC, .83; Doctors HLOC, .72; Powerful Others HLOC, .57). The findings provided partial support for the hypotheses which in turn provided some evidence for the validity of the scale. More studies are needed to further examine the validity of the scale. Nevertheless, it is envisaged that this scale can be used in ESRF patients to examine the effect of locus of control on outcome measures such as quality of life, emotional well-being and adherence.
