Bu araştırmanın amacı, sosyal problem çözme beceri eğitiminin annelerin sosyal problem çözme ve anne çocuk ilişkisi düzeylerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmış olup, deneme grubunda 18, kontrol grubunda 18 denek yer almıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Sosyal Problem Çözme Envanteri ve Çocuk Anababa İlişki Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Deneme grubuna sekiz haftalık sosyal problem çözme beceri eğitimi uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubu ile herhangi bir uygulama yapılmamıştır. Deneklerin ön test son test puan farklarının anlamlılığı Mann Whitney U testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, sosyal problem çözme beceri eğitiminin, deneme grubunda yer alan annelerin sosyal problem çözme ve anne çocuk ilişki düzeylerinin artmasında, anlamlı düzeyde etkisinin olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, sosyal beceri eğitimi programının, annelerin sosyal problem çözme becerilerini arttırmada ve çocuklarıyla ilişkilerini güçlendirmede önleyici rehberlik ve psikolojik danışma hizmeti olarak kullanabileceğini göstermektedir. Araştırma bulgularına dayalı olarak, yorumlarda bulunulup, uygulamaya ve araştırmaya yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir

The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of social problem solving skills training on mothers’ problem solving levels and the mother - child relationship level. Within the scope of the study, pretest - posttest control group testing pattern was used and the test and control groups consisted of 18 subjects each. For data collection, the Social Problem Solving Inventory and the Child - Parent Relationship Scale were used. The test group was subjected to an 8-week social problem solving skills training. The control group on the other hand was not subjected to any application. Significance of the differences in subjects’ pretest and posttest scores was analyzed through Mann Whitney U test. Findings of the study indicated that the social problem solving skills training had a significant effect in the increase of the problem solving and mother-child relationship levels of the mothers included in the test group. The results of this study shows that social skill training program can be used as a preventive guidance and psychological consultation service in enhancing mothers’ social skills and strengthening their relations with their children. Interpretations were made on the basis of the obtained findings and proposals both for practice and further research were developed
