Duygusal ve kişilik ilişkili kariyer karar verme güçlükleri temel olarak duygusal ve kişilik ilişkili faktörlerden kaynaklanmakta olup kariyer karar vermede bireyin yaşamış olduğu daha şiddetli, daha yoğun ve güçlü kararsızlığı içermektedir. Bu bağlamda bu araştırmanın amacı Duygusal ve Kişilik İlişkili Kariyer Karar Verme Güçlükleri Ölçeği’nin kısa formunun geçerliğini ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Ölçek geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları için 428 kişilik lise öğrenci grubuna uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliği doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile test edilmiş ve analiz sonucunda elde edilen uyum iyiliği katsayıları kabul edilebilir düzeyde bulunmuştur. Uyum geçerliği için ölçek, Kişisel Kararsızlık Ölçeği ile birlikte 145 kişilik lise öğrenci grubuna uygulanmış ve iki ölçek arasında pozitif anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin tamamının Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayısı .88, üç hafta ara ile uygulanması ile elde edilen test-tekrar test korelasyon katsayısı .70 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin psikometrik özellikleri ile ilgili elde edilen bulguların yeterli düzeyde olduğu ve kariyer karar verme güçlükleri ile ilgili araştırmalarda kullanılabilecek kullanışlı bir yapı ve özelliğe sahip olduğu kanısına ulaşılmıştır. Geçerliği test edilen ölçeğin lise öğrencilerinin kariyer kararsızlığı ile yapılacak çalışmalarda önemli bir boşluğu dolduracağı umulmaktadır.

Emotional and personality related career decision making difficulties basically result from emotional and personality related factors and include stronger a more intense indecisiveness that an individual experiences in decision making. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of the short form of Emotional and Personality related Career Decision Making Scale. The scale was applied with a high school student group of 428 for the reliability and validity study. The structural validity of the scale was tested with a confirmatory factor analysis and the goodness of fit coefficients obtained at the end of the analysis was found to be at acceptable levels. The scale was also applied with a high school student group of 145 along with the Personal Indecisiveness Scale for similar scales validity and a positively significant relationship was found between the two scales. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient for the whole scale was .88 and test-retest correlation coefficient obtained when the scale was reapplied after three weeks was .70. It was concluded that findings obtained regarding the psychometric characteristics of the scale were at a sufficient level and had useful structure and properties to be used in research related with career decision making difficulties. It is expected that the scale the validity of which was tested would fill a significant gap in research regarding career indecisiveness of high school students.
