Bu çalışmada, okul psikolojik danışmanların, yaşam doyumu, stresle başaçıkma stratejileri ve olumsuz otomatik düşünceleri arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İzmir il merkezi ve ilçelerindeki ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim okullarında görev yapan 112 kadın ve 29 erkek olmak üzere toplam 141 okul psikolojik danışmanı oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla Yaşam Doyumu ölçeği, Stresle Başaçıkma Stratejileri ölçeği, Olumsuz Otomatik Düşünceler ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, tek yönlü varyans analizi, t- testi ve Scheffe tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgularda, Yaşa göre,“Sosyal Destek Arama”alt ölçeğinde anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmıştır. Mezun olunan kurumda kazandırılan bilgi ve becerileri yeterli olarak algılayan danışmanların yeterli algılamayanlara göre, “problem çözme” ve “yaşam doyumu düzeyleri” yüksek bulunmuştur. Korelasyon analizi sonuçlarına göre “Yaşam doyumu” ile “olumsuz otomatik düşünme” ve“kaçınma” arasında negatif yönde; “Kaçınma” ile “olumsuz otomatik düşünceler arasında” da pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

The purpose of this is research is to study the relationship between school counselors’ life satisfaction, strategies to cope with stress and negative automatic thoughts. The sample for the research consisted of 141 psychological counselors, 112 of whom were females and 29 of whom were males, working at state primary and high schools in the province of Izmir. In order to collect data for the research Scale of Life Satisfaction, Scale for the Strategies to Cope with Stress, Scale of Negative Automatic Thoughts and Personal Information Form were used. To analyze the data, the statistical techniques Analysis of Variance, t-Test, and Scheffe Test were used. The results of the research reveal that there is a significant difference concerning the subscale “Seeking for Social Support” in terms of age. The counselors who think that the education they have had was satisfactory were found to have higher scores concerning “problem solving and “life satisfaction levels” than those who think that they have not had satisfactory education. The correlation analyses show that there is a significant negative correlation between “life satisfaction”, “negative automatic thought” and “avoidance”, and there is a significant positive correlation between “avoidance” and “negative automatic thoughts.
