Vancouver Obsesif Kompulsif Envanteri (VOKE) Obsesif-Kompulsif Bozuklukluğun (OKB) semptom şiddetini değerlendirmek üzere gerek klinik uygulamalarda gerekse araştırmalarda yaygın olarak kullanılan ve geçerlik ve güvenirliği bir çok çalışmada desteklenmiş olan bir ölçüm aracıdır. Ölçek literatürde yaygın olarak kullanılan birçok ölçeğin sahip olduğu kısıtlılıkları gidermek amacıyla geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, VOKE’yi ülkemize uyarlamak, psikometrik özelliklerini incelemek, Kanada ve Türk örneklemlerindeki faktör uyuşmasını karşılaştırarak ölçeğin kültürlerarası tutarlılığını incelemektir. Araştırma örneklemini 319 Türk ve 362 Kanadalı üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Katılımcılar, OKB semptomları, OKB’ye özgü bilişleri, düşünce kontrol stratejileri ve kişilik özelliklerini değerlendiren ölçüm araçlarından oluşan ölçek setini doldurmuşlardır. İç tutarlık analizleri, VOKE’nin Türkçe formunun istenilir düzeyde güvenirlik değerlerine sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Hedef Dönüştürme Analizleri, ölçeğin altı faktörlü orijinal yapısının ülkemizde de aynen kullanılabileceğine işaret etmiştir. Ayrıca, grup karşılaştırmaları ve korelasyon değerleri ölçeğin birleşen, ölçüt ve ayırt edici geçerliklerini desteklemiştir. Sonuç olarak, psikometrik özelliklere dair bulgular VOKE’nin Türkçe formunun ülkemizde klinik olmayan bir örneklemde güvenilir ve geçerli olduğunu göstermekte ve ölçeğin kültürler arası geçerliğini desteklemektedir. Ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerinin klinik örneklemde de incelenmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Vancouver Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (VOCI) has been recently designed instrument that aims to evaluate the symptom severity of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in both clinical practice and scientific research and its psychometric characteristics have been supported by various studies. Some problems in other instruments in literature such as symptom differentiation/coverage, the VOCI has been developed. The aim of the present study is to adapt the VOCI as a current OCD symptom instrument into the Turkish, to examine its psychometric properties and to investigate its international validity by comparing factor congruency among Canadian and Turkish sample. Three hundred nineteen Turkish undergraduate students and 362 Canadian university students participated into the study by completing an instrument set about personality characteristics, thought control strategies, OCD beliefs and symptoms. Reliability analyses proved that the Turkish version of the VOCI had satisfactory internal consistency. Target rotation analysis revealed that there was a acceptable factor congruency among the English and Turkish versions of the VOCI. Moreover, the analyses of group comparisons and correlation also indicated that this version of the VOCI had criterion, convergent and divergent validity. In conclusion, the findings of the present study supported the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the VOCI as well as it’s cross-culturally validity in a nonclinical sample; nevertheless, replication with clinical sample strongly encouraged.
