Şizofreni hastalarında somatizasyon

Amaç: Kadın ve erkek şizofreni hastalarındaki somatizasyon belirtilerinin normal kontrollere karşılaştırılması.
Yöntem: Genel psikopatoloji seviyesi ve somatizasyon belirtileri ile ilgili veri toplanması amacı ile Belirti Tarama Listesi (BTL) kullanılmıştır.
Sonuçlar: Hasta grubunun eğitim seviyesi kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı olarak düşük bulunmuştur. Hasta grubunun yaş ortalaması ise kontrol grubuna göre daha yüksektir. Eğitim seviyesi tüm örneklemde somatizasyon skoru ve genel semptom indeksi ile negatif bir korelasyon göstermektedir. Cinsiyet ise bu iki değişken ile sadece hasta grubunda ilişkilidir. Her iki grubun somatizayon skoru ve genel semptom indeksleri eğitimin etkisi istatistiksel olarak kontrol edildikten sonra karşılaştırıldığında, kadın hasta grubunun somatizasyon skorunun erkek hasta grubundan ve kontrollerden daha yüksek olduğu (p<0.001) bulunmuştur. Kadın ve erkek hasta gruplarının genel semptom indeksi puanı kadın ve erkek kontrol grubundan anlamlı olarak yüksektir (p<0.001). Erkek hasta grubunun somatizasyon skoru kontrol grubundan anlamlı olarak farklı değildir.
Tartışma: Kadın şizofreni hastalarında somatizasyon belirtileri hem normal kontroller hem de erkek şizofreni hastalarına göre belirgin şekilde fazladır. Olası uygulamalar ve gelecek araştırma konuları tartışılmıştır.
Somatization In Patients With Schizophrenia
Objective: To evaluate the level of somatization in male and female schizophrenic patients when compared with normal controls.
Method: The Symptom Checklist 90-Revised (SCL-90-R) was used to collect information about the general level of psychopatholgy and somatization spesifically.
Results: The educational status of the patient group was significantly lower than the control group, and the patient group was significantly older. Level of education was significantly negatively correlated with both somatization score and general symtom index. Gender was significantly correlated with both of these scores in the patient group only. When the somatization and general symptom index points of the two groups were compared, after controlling the effects of education, it was evident that the female patient group had significantly higher somatization scores than male patient group and the male and female controls (p<0.001), and the patient group had significantly higher general symptom index than the patient group (p<0.001) Somatization scores of male patient group were not significantly higher than the controls.
Discussion: Female schizophrenia patients have significantly more somatization problems than both normal controls and male schizophrenics. Possible implications and future research subjects were discussed.
